Con todo un mundo de retraso, pues a la velocidad que vamos ya la podemos considerar como veterana, el bueno de Steve’s Digicams nos presenta su análisis a fondo de la Canon G1 X Mark II, así que en el formato de siempre os pongo lo de siempre.

Solo añadir que por un momento estuve tentado, pero ya paso. Cosas como la Sony RX100 III tienen la culpa.

Pros:

  • Image quality is outstanding most of the time
  • Terrific camera for portrait or product photography
  • Allows recording in JPEG or RAW
  • Camera works quickly most of the time
  • Fast f/2.0 lens
  • Solidly built camera
  • Tiltable LCD works well for use with a tripod
  • Offers touchscreen LCD
  • Uses same field of view in 4:3 or 3:2 aspect ratios
  • Plenty of manual control options
  • Plenty of button customization options
  • Offers Wi-Fi and NFC connectivity

Contras:

  • Very heavy for a fixed lens camera
  • Small optical zoom capability at 5x
  • Battery life is poor
  • Camera’s performance is slow when using flash or in low light
  • Design of step ring on lens is poor and has some responsiveness issues
  • Autofocus sometimes struggles in scenes with no obvious subject or in low light
  • Camera’s menu structure is not updated for use with a touchscreen
  • Wi-Fi can be difficult to set up
  • Power button is too small and too tightly set near mode dial
  • No viewfinder
  • Starting price is too high
